Haridwar Tour Packages

Haridwar literally meaning "Gateway to God" is one of the seven holiest cities in Hinduism and one of the oldest living cities on earth. Situated at the point where the Ganges leaves the Himalayan foothills and descends into the Indo-Gangetic plains, Haridwar has been a centre of pilgrimage, learning, and spiritual practice for thousands of years. Experience divine peace and timeless traditions with our specially curated Haridwar Tour Packages, designed to immerse you in the spiritual essence of one of India’s holiest cities. The city pulses with an ancient, unbroken devotional energy that is palpable the moment you step off the train or arrive on its busy roads. The sound of temple bells, the fragrance of marigolds and incense, the sight of saffron-clad sadhus, and the perpetual murmur of prayers along the river banks  Haridwar is a city that speaks directly to the soul, regardless of your religious background.

Every year, millions of pilgrims arrive in Haridwar to bathe in the sacred Ganges, perform rituals for departed ancestors, attend the legendary Ganga Aarti at Har Ki Pauri, and begin their onward journeys to the Char Dham shrines of Uttarakhand. But Haridwar is not only a destination for the deeply devout. It is also a compelling destination for cultural travellers, historians, photographers, Ayurveda seekers, and anyone who wants to experience the living, breathing heart of India's ancient civilisation.

At Vayable Trip, our Haridwar tour packages are designed to give you an authentic, immersive, and deeply meaningful experience of this extraordinary city whether you are coming as a pilgrim, a curious explorer, or simply someone drawn by the powerful magnetism of the Ganges.

Why Haridwar is a Journey Worth Taking

There are places in the world where history, faith, and geography converge in ways that create something truly extraordinary. Haridwar is one of those places. The city has been continuously inhabited for over two thousand years, and its streets, temples, and ghats carry the accumulated weight and grace of countless generations of worshippers, scholars, saints, and seekers.

The Ganga Aarti at Har Ki Pauri is, without hyperbole, one of the most magnificent spectacles in India. Every evening at sunset, thousands of people gather on the steps of the ghat as priests in white and golden robes perform the aarti with enormous, flaming lamps, chanting ancient Sanskrit hymns as the Ganges rushes past. The lamps are reflected in the fast-moving water, flower-and-flame diyas float downstream, conch shells sound, and for a few extraordinary minutes, the boundary between the temporal and the sacred seems to dissolve entirely. It is an experience that stays with you for the rest of your life.

Beyond the aarti, Haridwar offers a rich tapestry of temples, ashrams, wildlife sanctuaries, Ayurvedic institutions, and cultural sites that make it a destination worthy of several full days of exploration.

Top Attractions To Explore in our Haridwar Tour Packages

Har Ki Pauri

The most sacred ghat in Haridwar, Har Ki Pauri (meaning "Steps of the Lord") is the spiritual epicentre of the city. According to Hindu tradition, the footprint of Lord Vishnu is imprinted on a stone here, and bathing at this ghat during sacred occasions is believed to grant moksha (liberation from the cycle of birth and death). The ghat is always thronged with pilgrims performing rituals dipping in the Ganges, floating flower offerings, performing shraddha (ancestor rituals), and consulting priests. But it is at sunset, during the Ganga Aarti, that Har Ki Pauri reaches its full, overwhelming magnificence. The iron chains strung across the river here are there to protect bathers from being swept away by the powerful current a reminder of the Ganges' immense force even at its most beautiful.

Ganga Aarti at Har Ki Pauri

This evening ritual, performed daily at sunset by trained priests, is the defining experience of any visit to Haridwar. Enormous brass lamps are lit and moved in sweeping circular patterns to the accompaniment of bells, conch shells, cymbals, and chanting. The smoke of incense mingles with the mist rising from the river, and thousands of people stand in reverent silence or with folded hands. The air crackles with devotion. Whether or not you share the faith that surrounds you, the Ganga Aarti is a profoundly moving human spectacle an unbroken thread connecting the present to thousands of years of tradition.

Chandi Devi Temple

Situated on the Neel Parvat hill on the eastern bank of the Ganges, Chandi Devi Temple is one of the most important Shakti Peethas in the Garhwal Himalaya. The main idol of Chandi Devi is believed to have been installed by Adi Shankaracharya in the 8th century CE. The temple is accessible either by a cable car (the Chandi Devi Udan Khatola) or by a forest trek of approximately 3 km. The cable car ride offers spectacular aerial views of the Ganges, the city of Haridwar, and the forested Shivalik Hills. The temple complex at the top includes shrines to Maha Kali and Maha Saraswati alongside the main Chandi Devi sanctum.

Mansa Devi Temple

Set atop the Bilwa Parvat hill and accessible via cable car or a 3 km footpath, Mansa Devi Temple is dedicated to the goddess Mansa (one who grants wishes). The temple is considered a Siddhapeeth a place of great spiritual power where wishes made with sincere devotion are fulfilled. Devotees tie a sacred thread to one of the ancient trees on the temple premises when making a wish and return to untie it when the wish is granted the gnarled old trees here are wrapped in hundreds of thousands of these threads. The views over Haridwar and the winding Ganges from the hilltop are spectacular.

Maya Devi Temple

One of the oldest temples in Haridwar and one of the Shakti Peethas where parts of the goddess Sati are believed to have fallen, Maya Devi Temple is dedicated to the ruling deity of Haridwar. The temple's origins date back over a thousand years, and it has a deeply ancient, devotional atmosphere. It is a three-faced deity temple, with the central figure of Maya Devi flanked by Kali and Kamakhya. Unlike the hilltop temples, Maya Devi is located in the heart of the city and is accessible on foot.

Daksha Mahadev Temple

Located in Kankhal, a suburb of Haridwar, the Daksha Mahadev Temple marks the site where, according to Hindu mythology, the great yajna (fire sacrifice) performed by King Daksha took place and where his daughter Sati immolated herself after her father insulted her husband, Lord Shiva. The episode is central to Hindu mythology and the origin story of the Shakti Peethas. The temple has a powerful mythological resonance and is deeply revered by devotees. A large fair is held here during the month of Kartik.

Rajaji National Park

Spreading across the Shivalik foothills between Haridwar and Dehradun, Rajaji National Park is a magnificent wildlife reserve covering 820 sq km. The park is home to Asian elephants (one of the finest elephant populations in northern India), tigers, leopards, sloth bears, sambar deer, barking deer, king cobras, gharial crocodiles, and over 315 species of birds, including the great hornbill and crested serpent eagle. Jeep safaris into the Haridwar zone of the park can be arranged from Haridwar and are an excellent half-day excursion for nature lovers and wildlife enthusiasts.

Patanjali Yogpeeth

Established by the globally recognised yoga guru Baba Ramdev and the Ayurvedic scholar Acharya Balkrishna, Patanjali Yogpeeth is the world's largest yoga institution — a sprawling campus on the outskirts of Haridwar that includes a research hospital, a massive yoga hall, Ayurvedic pharmacy and treatment centre, herb gardens, and a medicinal plant park. Visitors can attend yoga sessions, receive Ayurvedic consultations and treatments, visit the herbal pharmacy, and learn about the science of Ayurveda. For those interested in holistic wellness, this is an unmissable stop.

Shantikunj (Gayatri Pariwar Headquarters)

A significant spiritual and educational institution on the outskirts of Haridwar, Shantikunj is the international headquarters of the All World Gayatri Pariwar one of the world's largest spiritual organisations. The campus includes temples, meditation halls, a research institute, and dormitory accommodation for spiritual retreat participants. Visitors are welcome to explore the grounds, attend meditation sessions, and experience the institution's distinctive approach to holistic spiritual development.

Bhimgoda Tank

A sacred tank in the heart of Haridwar, Bhimgoda is believed to have been created by a blow from the knee of the Pandava hero Bhima during the epic Mahabharata era. The tank is surrounded by ghats, temples, and dharamshalas, and is used by pilgrims for ritual bathing. It has a quietly devout atmosphere, less thronged than Har Ki Pauri, and gives you a more intimate glimpse of daily religious life in Haridwar.

The Kumbh Mela – The World's Largest Gathering

Haridwar is one of the four sacred sites where the Kumbh Mela is held, rotating every 12 years (Purna Kumbh) and every 6 years (Ardha Kumbh). The Kumbh Mela is the largest peaceful gathering of human beings on earth, with estimates of up to 50 million pilgrims attending in a single event. During Kumbh, Haridwar transforms into an enormous temporary city of tents, ashrams, and ghats, with processions of saints, massive communal bathing on sacred dates, and an atmosphere of extraordinary collective devotion. Attending Kumbh Mela even for a single day is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Our team can organise Kumbh Mela special packages well in advance of each event.

Best Time to Visit Haridwar

October to March: The finest time to visit Haridwar. Temperatures are cool and pleasant, ranging from 5°C to 22°C. The skies are clear, the Ganges is calm and beautiful, and the city is busy with pilgrims but not overwhelmingly crowded.

April to June: Warm to hot temperatures (20°C to 40°C), but Haridwar remains active and fully operational. The Ganga Aarti is beautiful year-round. Avoid peak summer afternoons, which can be very hot.

July to September (Monsoon): Haridwar receives moderate rainfall. The Kanwar Yatra — a massive pilgrimage in which devotees carry Ganga water from Haridwar to their home temples — takes place in July and August, transforming the city into a sea of saffron. Attendance during this period offers a remarkable cultural spectacle, though roads can be congested.

Special Occasions: Mahashivratri (February/March), Ram Navami, Ganga Dussehra, and Kumbh/Ardha Kumbh Mela periods offer heightened spiritual and cultural experiences and are highly recommended for those seeking a deeper immersion.
