Ayodhya Tour Packages

Ayodhya is one of the most sacred cities in the Hindu world and one of the seven holy cities (Sapta Puri) of Hinduism a city whose significance to India's spiritual and cultural identity is so profound that it transcends religion and speaks to something fundamental in the Indian civilisational imagination. This ancient city on the banks of the Sarayu River in Uttar Pradesh is, according to the Ramayana, the birthplace of Lord Ram the seventh avatar of Vishnu, the embodiment of dharma, and one of the most beloved deities in the Hindu pantheon. The story of Ram his birth in Ayodhya, his exile, his battle against the demon king Ravana, his triumphant return is the story that has shaped Indian culture, literature, art, music, and philosophy for over two thousand years.

Ayodhya today is undergoing the most significant transformation in its modern history. The inauguration of the Ram Mandir the grand temple built on the site of Ram Janmabhoomi (the birthplace of Lord Ram) in January 2024 has established Ayodhya as one of the most significant and most visited pilgrimage destinations in India. The city is being reimagined as a world-class spiritual destination, with the Ram Mandir at its magnificent centre, surrounded by a cityscape that honours the ancient traditions and legends of this extraordinary place.

At Vayable Trip, our Ayodhya tour packages are designed to give you a complete, respectful, and deeply meaningful experience of this sacred city the new Ram Mandir, the ancient ghats and temples, the Ramayana heritage sites, and the living spiritual culture that has made Ayodhya one of the holiest addresses on earth.

Why Ayodhya is a Pilgrimage of a Lifetime

Ayodhya's significance in the Hindu tradition cannot be overstated. It is not merely a holy city it is the holy city of the Ramayana universe, the city from which the greatest king of the Treta Yuga ruled, the city to which Lord Ram returned after 14 years of exile and whose celebration inspired the tradition of Diwali. For hundreds of millions of Hindus across India and the global diaspora, Ayodhya represents the closest earthly approximation to the divine a place where the mythological past is believed to be literally present in the soil, the river, and the sacred sites.

The Ram Mandir inaugurated in January 2024 after a journey of faith, law, and devotion that spanned decades is already becoming one of the most visited religious sites in the world. The scale of pilgrimage to Ayodhya in the post-inauguration period has been extraordinary, reflecting the depth of devotion to Lord Ram among Hindus everywhere. Visiting Ayodhya now, in this period of renewal and transformation, is to witness a historic moment in the living history of one of the world's oldest religious traditions.

Ram Mandir (Ram Janmabhoomi Temple)

The magnificent new Ram Mandir, inaugurated in January 2024, stands on the site universally believed to be the birthplace of Lord Ram. The temple is a masterpiece of Nagara-style Hindu architecture built of pink sandstone from Rajasthan's Bansi Paharpur quarries, with intricate carvings covering every surface depicting scenes from the Ramayana and the life of Lord Ram. The main sanctum houses the idol of Ram Lalla the child form of Lord Ram in a sanctum of gold and jewelled splendour. The temple complex covers 70 acres and includes multiple subsidiary shrines, ghats, a museum, and beautifully landscaped gardens. The atmosphere of devotion within the complex is overwhelming the sound of chanted prayers, the fragrance of flowers and incense, and the presence of lakhs of pilgrims create an experience of collective faith of extraordinary power.

A visit to the Ram Janmabhoomi complex requires advance booking, which our team arranges seamlessly as part of all Ayodhya packages. Queue management, VIP darshan options, and timing recommendations are handled for you.

Hanuman Garhi

One of Ayodhya's most beloved and most visited temples, Hanuman Garhi is a fort-like temple complex dedicated to Lord Hanuman the devoted companion of Ram whose story is inseparable from the Ramayana. The temple sits atop a mound in the heart of Ayodhya's religious quarter, reached by 76 steep steps that pilgrims climb with devotion regardless of age or physical condition. The main sanctum houses an image of Hanuman in the lap of his mother, Anjani Devi. The temple is believed to fulfil the wishes of sincere devotees, and the steps are always thick with people ascending and descending. The view from the temple top over the rooftops and spires of Ayodhya is excellent.

Kanak Bhawan

One of the most beautifully adorned temples in Ayodhya, Kanak Bhawan (the Golden House) was gifted by Kaikeyi to Sita as a wedding present, according to the Ramayana tradition. The current temple dates from the 19th century and houses lavishly decorated images of Ram and Sita adorned with gold jewellery and fine garments. The interior of the temple golden, fragrant, and filled with devotional music is one of the most sensory and aesthetically rich temple experiences in Ayodhya. The temple is particularly beautiful during festivals, when the deities are dressed in specially made ceremonial garments and the entire complex is illuminated.

Ram Ki Paidi (Sarayu Ghat)

The sacred ghats of Ayodhya on the Sarayu River are the city's spiritual waterfront a series of stepped stone embankments where pilgrims bathe in the river, perform rituals for ancestors, and gather for evening aarti. The Ram Ki Paidi ghat complex is the main bathing area, with beautifully maintained steps descending to the Sarayu and a row of temples and shrines lining the bank. The evening aarti at Ram Ki Paidi performed at sunset with lamps, flowers, and devotional music is one of Ayodhya's most moving experiences and draws thousands of pilgrims and visitors. The Sarayu River at dawn, when the light is soft and the water reflects the pink sky and the temple spires, is extraordinarily beautiful.

Nageshwarnath Temple

One of the oldest temples in Ayodhya, the Nageshwarnath Temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is believed to have been established by Kush, the son of Lord Ram. According to tradition, the temple was discovered by Vikramaditya of Ujjain after much of Ayodhya was concealed by jungle following the end of the Treta Yuga. The temple is the venue for the Shivratri celebrations that are among Ayodhya's largest religious events.

Treta Ke Thakur Temple

A significant ancient temple marking the site where Lord Ram is said to have performed the Ashwamedha Yajna the horse sacrifice after returning from Lanka. The temple houses images of Ram, Lakshman, Sita, Hanuman, and Bharat that are remarkable for their antiquity and craftsmanship. The site carries an atmosphere of great historical and spiritual weight.

Mani Parvat

A natural hillock of religious significance in Ayodhya, Mani Parvat is associated with the tradition that the medicinal herb Sanjeevani, brought by Hanuman to revive the fallen Lakshman in Lanka, was planted here. The hillock is crowned with a small temple and offers a panoramic view of Ayodhya and the Sarayu River. The surrounding gardens have been developed as a contemplative area and are pleasant for an evening walk.

Sita Ki Rasoi

One of Ayodhya's most charming and unusual heritage sites, Sita Ki Rasoi "Sita's Kitchen" is a temple complex built over the site traditionally identified as the royal kitchen used by Sita, daughter-in-law of King Dasharatha. The temple contains stone implements, vessels, and cooking utensils said to be from this legendary kitchen, and is one of the most distinctively human and domestic of Ayodhya's sacred sites a reminder that the figures of the Ramayana, however divine, lived lives that included the ordinary and the quotidian.

Guptar Ghat

Located at the southern edge of the city, Guptar Ghat "the ghat of disappearance" is the site where Lord Ram is believed to have departed from the earthly world, taking his physical form (along with many of his devotees) into the Sarayu River in what is called his Jal Samadhi (water meditation/merging). The ghat has a deeply contemplative atmosphere, particularly at dawn and dusk, and a series of ancient temples along its banks dedicated to Ram and other Ramayana figures. It is less visited than the central ghats and has a quiet, devotional character that many travellers find deeply moving.

Birla Mandir & Tulsi Smarak Bhawan

The Birla Mandir in Ayodhya is a beautiful, recently constructed temple in white marble. The Tulsi Smarak Bhawan is a cultural centre commemorating the great poet-saint Tulsidas, who composed the Ramcharitmanas (the Hindi Ramayana) in Varanasi but whose work is most celebrated in Ayodhya. The Bhawan houses a theatre, library, and research centre dedicated to Tulsidas's life and literary heritage.

Ramayana Circuit & Museum

The comprehensive Ramayana Museum being developed in Ayodhya as part of the city's transformation will, when complete, be one of the finest repositories of Ramayana art, literature, and cultural heritage in the world. Even in its current form, the Ramayana-themed heritage circuit connecting the major sites of the city Ram Janmabhoomi, the ghats, the ancient temples, and the cultural landmarks is a beautifully structured way to understand Ayodhya's complete significance.
