Shirdi is a small city located in the Ahmednagar district with an average of 25,000 visitors each month; however, that number can increase dramatically on Thursdays and during festivals due to the saint Sai Baba who was known to have lived in a ruined mosque in Shirdi throughout his lifetime as well as having Mahasamadhi there (1918).

During this trip of 3 days, you can explore Shirdi completely as we’ll be taking you to Shirdi Sai Baba Temple, Dwarkamai & Chavadi and local markets.
When you reach Shirdi, you’ll be checking into your hotel and given some time to freshen up before you pay your first visit to the Samadhi Mandirm – the main shrine where Sai Baba's grave lies under a thick crust of white marble. The morning darshan is what most visitors remember long after they leave the temple gates. Since the temple usually opens at 5 AM, when the halls are still almost empty and there´s nothing loud but the smell of flowers and incense in the air will refresh you.

And, Dwarkamai, the ancient mosque where Baba spent his days, is located directly next to the main temple. He referred to it as his mom. Baba himself lit the sacred dhuni fire inside, and it hasn't gone out since his time. Devotees are still blessed with the ash from it, known as Udi. The grinding stone, the wooden vessel he used for bhiksha, and oil paintings from his lifetime are also stored here.

Baba slept every other night at Chavadi, which also served as the birthplace of the Shej Aarti and Kakad Aarti customs. The Palki procession travels slowly from Samadhi Mandir to Dwarkamai on Thursday nights, accompanied by alleys full of devotees and bhajans. For prasad, rudraksha, and little devotional things, it is worthwhile to see through the local market near the temple complex before departing.
