Faq's

1. Can I take any regular car to Chandratal?

Ans. No, regular hatchbacks or low-clearance sedans are not recommended. The 14 km stretch from Batal to the lake consists of dirt tracks, sharp boulder fields, and unbridled glacial water crossings. You should ideally use a high-clearance SUV or a 4x4 vehicle.

2. How do I get to the actual lake from the campsite

Ans. You can either drive your vehicle or walk from the campsite to the designated parking lot area. From the parking lot, everyone must cover the final 1.5 to 2 kilometres on foot over flat but high-altitude terrain to reach the water's edge

3. What is the network and connectivity situation?

Ans. There is absolutely zero mobile network coverage or internet at the Chandratal campsites, the lake itself, or the nearby pitstop of Batal.Ensure you download your offline maps, complete your transactions, and inform your family about your lack of connectivity before crossing over Kunzum Pass or leaving Gramphu
