Delhi to Kinnaur is one of those road trips that people who've done it always describe with the same phrase "I didn't expect it to be that good." And that's exactly the thing about Kinnaur: it consistently outperforms expectations.
The journey from Delhi begins either by overnight Volvo to Shimla, or by flying into Chandigarh. From there, the road into Kinnaur winds through Narkanda's deodar and apple forests, descends past Rampur into the Sutlej gorge, and slowly transforms into the high-altitude tribal landscape that defines the district.
What makes Kinnaur stand apart from every other Himachal route is the layering. The landscape changes every 40 kilometres. Green pine forests give way to apple orchards, orchards give way to barren rocky gorges, gorges open up into flat valley floors with glacial rivers and ancient villages. By the time you're sitting in Chitkul or watching sunrise from Kalpa, you've already crossed through four or five different worlds.

For Delhi travellers, the Kinnaur circuit is a particularly satisfying escape because it's relatively uncrowded, even in peak season. The roads have improved significantly, and the local guesthouses and homestays have quietly upgraded their standards while keeping their character intact.

This 8-day package is designed to let you cover the main highlights, Sarahan, Sangla, Chitkul, Kalpa, and Nako, without ever feeling rushed. We move at the pace that the mountains actually allow, with acclimatisation built naturally into the itinerary.

Early risers get rewarded here more than anywhere else. The early light on Kinner Kailash from the Kalpa viewpoint, the mist lifting off the Baspa river at Sangla, the absolute silence of Chitkul before the tourists arrive, these are the moments this trip is designed around.
Departures from Delhi by Volvo to Shimla are available every day. Custom private tours by road from Delhi directly to Rampur are also popular with groups of 4+.

Destinations like Jibhi and Spiti Valley receive exceptional praise for their clean environments, uncrowded natural beauty, and cultural experiences (e.g., Key Monastery, Hikkim's high-altitude post office)
